Looking to improve your flasher relay performance or are you considering or have you added LED indicator bulbs?

These electronic relays will keep your flash rate constant and keep it standard even if the load on the circuit changes.  Standard relays will not flash at the correct rate with LED bulbs.

Suitable for many other classic or modern 12v cars or applications with standard filament / incandescent bulbs or LEDs or a mix of filament / incandescent bulbs and LED.

Compatible with most cars and bikes and suitable for indicators or hazards- not many electronic flashers have the OE clicking sound - these do.  Includes rubber mounting bracket.

Suitable replacement for 3 pin flasher relays with 49 (X), 49a (L) and P Connectors.  You will need to also connect the earth connection wire. Also available with Positive Earth, please select the required option from the drop down menu.

Connections:

X = Live In (49)

L = Load (to indicator switch) (49a)

P = Pilot / Dash Indicator Warning (optional - not required for 2 pin configuration)

Black Lead - must be connected to a good earth

IF THE RELAY DOES NOT BEHAVE WHEN THE ENGINE IS RUNNING YOU NEED TO ADD SUPPRESSION TO THE LEAD BETWEEN YOUR COIL AND DISTRIBUTOR TO REDUCE THE RF INTERFERENCE.

I have previously used the negative earth/ground version of this flasher, and have been very pleased with it. I’m very glad that Classic has made this positive version available. I feel it was fairly priced, and the cross-Atlantic delivery time was only about a week, which is pretty decent. I had a technical question and they answered it in a prompt and friendly manner. Overall, a very good company to deal with!

Seeing the Light with LED

After my car became invisible in a fog bank, I decided to investigate fitting LEDs to the old girl.

I fitted sidelights, brake lights and indicators.

1st problem; indicators flashing at different speeds.
A search brought me to Classic car LEDs where I found that I needed to change to No load Flasher units.

2nd problem; units fitted but with sidelights on, I had a 4 indicators going instead of the 2 I wanted.
A quick email to Duncan and he soon had a copy of the wiring diagram for a DB6.
From this, he identified that the issue was with the rear dimmer relay, and suggested how to resolve it.

Job now done and working great.

Tremendous. Quality product. Great advice. Prompt service.

After an evening out in my kit car, my son in law commented on how poor the tail lights were. Following a chat with Duncan on the phone I ordered some new tail lights. Stop and Tail. They were so good I ordered some indicators as well along with the dash tell tale and this flasher unit. I am so happy with this that I have posted on our kit car group with some video. They are the experts and know what they are talking about. Give Duncan a ring!
